Meet Us
The people behind SonWay Construction.
Shaun Gibson
President and Founder, SonWay of Virginia, Inc.
Shaun grew up on a farm in west-central Minnesota. Farm life teaches you early that neighbours get each other through — that the work is shared, and so is the result. That is where SonWay starts.
He has been a lifelong learner with a habit of looking at whole systems rather than single parts: how the pieces of an operation fit together, and where the friction really sits.
His working life has centred on transportation, alongside experience in office systems, hospitality and the medical community. He worked through the microcomputer era, when the tools of an office changed underneath everyone using them.
He studied at North Dakota State University in Fargo and the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. At NDSU and UND his studies covered agricultural economics, business administration, information systems and records management.
Those threads — the farm, the systems, the years among people at work — run into the same place: a belief that people do better when they belong to a family, and that a community is built by neighbours supporting one another. SonWay Construction is one practical expression of that: dependable work for the people we serve, and a place where capable people can use and grow their skills.
